|Scores:||H&TCC 293/6 (B.Jacobs 116, L.Smith 37)|
1st XI lost the toss and were asked to bat on a very good looking wicket in the sun. All of the 8 batsman made at least a good start with the lowest score 14. Congratulations to B.Jacobs for his first English century, a brilliant knock coming off just 92 balls with 10x4s & 8x6s. Hadleigh showed off their premier bowling attack having Harlow 123-8 but the combination of a very short boundary and a few dropped catches meant Harlow finished on 231/9. A convincing win giving the team confidence for the first premier league game. Good luck!

|Scores:||Chingford 197AO (A.Dobson 3/32)|
Chingford won the toss and elected to bat on what was a slightly damp wicket. Hadleigh started well, Chingford 60-5 at lunch. Wickets continued to fall regularly however 1 batsman stuck strong ending on 118 and Chingford bowled out for 198AO. The Hadleigh innings started in the worst possible way with a wicket first ball, however good starts from the rest of the top 6 put Hadleigh in with a shot of winning. Unfortunately it wasn’t meant to be, a few loose shots and some good bowling meant Hadleigh were all out for 156. A good start to the premier campaign with Hadleigh having the worst of the conditions. Plenty to take into the next game knowing a few catches or application with the bat could have won this game.

|Scores:||Hornchurch 211-7 (S.Handley 3/54)|
The first XI lost the toss and were asked to bowl. A.Dobson and R.Revell got Hadleigh off to a good start and looked threatening however the fielders couldn’t back them up with a few dropped catches. The spin twins H.Zaidi and S.Handley bowled 42 overs on the bounce at a very economical rate picking up 5 wickets between them. Unfortunately a further 5 dropped catches meant Hornchurch got away with not a great batting display to make 211 of their 64 overs. Hadleigh got off to a poor start, 41-4 at tea with an uphill battle ahead. Monty Panesar proved too good on a wicket that had massively deteriorated returning figures of 6-22, HTCC all out of 77. Get along to fielding practice please chaps!

|Scores:||H&TCC 139AO (S.Handley 70, R. Revell 34)|
Hadleigh won the toss and decided to have a bat on a reasonably dry wicket that looked like it would deteriorate. The pitch didn’t behave and Hadleigh were reduced to 19-5. A top innings from S.Handley and supported by R.Revell gave Hadleigh a slight glimmer of hope posting 139. Despite great spirit in the field Ilford succefully chased the small target down for the loss of just 1 wicket. A bad day at the office, on to next week Vs national champions Wanstead. Let’s cause an upset!

|Scores:||Wanstead - 232/8 (H.Zaidi 4-45)|
H&TCC - 112AO
Hadleigh lost the toss and were asked to bowl on a wicket that gave the seamers and spinners something to work with. A good overall performance to restrict the national champions to just 232 off 64 overs. Hadleigh started fairly well with the bat reaching 101-4 and feeling like a draw would be the worst result. 3 wickets in 3 balls started a huge collapse seeing Hadleigh losing their last 6 wickets for just 11 runs. A must win game now at home Billericay this week.

Billericay - 127AO (H.Zaidi 4/46, R.Revell 3/26)
Hadleigh lost the toss and were asked to bat first with the rumours being that Billericay believed they could skittle the HTCC line up. It looked like Billericay had made the right decision at 34/3 However 2 good partnerships between A.Soileux and B.Jacobs (66) & A.Soileux and L.Smith (85) got Hadleigh to 188-6. A good effort from the lower order, Hadleigh close on 228/9. A.Dobson & R.Revell bowled very tightly to start and got their reward, 32-4 with the big wicket of Paul Walter who’s was 260* before this game (scored 100 yesterday also). The spin twins did the rest with Zaidi taking 4/46 off his 14 overs. A good all-round performance and the first of premier league win on the board! More than Southend have achieved in 23 premier league games!

Shenfield - 67AO (R.Revell 5/14)
Won the toss and decided to bat on a good looking wicket. P.Tibbs got hit in the helmet first ball from Jack Plom but from that point onwards the day kept getting better. The top order set a perfect platform for the hitters to go in and score heavily in the last 10 overs. Superb batting display from all involved with a special mention to B.Jacobs with the first league 100 of the campaign. Birthday boy A.Bennett got HTCC of to a perfect start running out the opening batsman with a direct hit. From there captain R.Revell stole the show recording 5 for 14 off 10 overs and was well supported by A.Dobson 1 for 13 off 8 overs. At 32-7 the job was almost done, the spin twins finishing the job and HTCC recording a massive 200 run victory. By far the best 1st team performance I’ve ever been involved in, confidence is sky high for this weekend, let’s make it 3 in a row!
