The 3rd XI started the season in the best possible fashion with 20 points and a place at top of the league. Hadleigh won the toss and had a bowl first, J.Klein and A.Graham bowled well to start picking up 3 wickets between them. A good fielding display especially from youngster T.Salter who ended up with 2 catches including a caught and bowled. Experience with the bat from J.Snelling supported by P.Richer and a few youngsters meant Hadleigh chased down 213 for just 5 wickets in 39 overs. Well done chaps! #Ringeralert

The 3rd XI remain top of the league with a winning draw against Westcliff. A.Mitchell played a captains knock scoring 138, well supported by all of his team mates. HTCC were unlucky with a couple of decisions going against them, especially J.Snelling having their opener run out by 2 peroni lengths who went on to score 69. Hadleigh kept in good spirits and had Westcliff 7 down to take 11 points from the game.

The 3rd XI continued in fine form with a 4 wicket win against Walthamstow. The Mitchell family having a particularly good day amounting 193 runs between them. Congratulations to Dylan scoring his 1st men’s 100 for Hadleigh let’s hope he can give the 2s some well needed runs this week. Top of the league by 11 points chaps, keep up the good work!

A good effort to get 10 players away to Harlow, big thanks to everyone who played. R. Lambdon was left stranded on 49* after batting 50 overs. Youngsters J.Genthe and B.Mascall impressed with the ball but unfortunately Harlow where to strong on this occasion.

Hadleigh bowled first and chased leather for most the afternoon with Hordon amassing 251 off of 49 overs. J. Snelling turning the arm over returning best figures since 2004. The old boys were the stars of the show and managed to bat out the last 15 overs between 3 of them to deny Horndon the win. Well done chaps, I’m sure you truly annoyed the opposition!

Depsite a captains knock and a good effort from youngsters Ben Mascall (16) and Ben Read (12) the 3s could only muster up 154. Ben Rossitter managed to get both opening batsman out retunring figures of 2-23 off 5 overs and Read claiming the other wicket, 1-11 off 3 overs. On to next week chaps.

3s won the toss and elected to bat as half the team were still lost trying to find the grounf. J.Snelling anchored the innings and left it open for some big hitting at the end. Hadleigh left slightly underwhelmed hoping for nearer 250. Loughton got off to a good start at 198/2 however some tight bowling meant they only chased down the target with 3 overs to spare. Another 20/30 runs again could have been the difference.

Hadleigh lost the toss and were asked to bowl against Harold Wood who were sitting top of the league. B. Rossiter bowled very well and was backed up by young spinner B.Read and a good fielding display. In response the Klein’s got off to a good start. Jarred staying in the whole innings narrowly missing out on a 50 by scoring a 4 off the last ball to win the game instead of a 6. The 3s move out of the relegation zone into 8th by 1 point!
