General Information
Our cricket club enjoys a competitive standard of cricket and also a thriving social scene. We are a registered Community Amateur Sports Club and are run by teams of dedicated volunteers who help us with our cricket, arranging social events and maintaining our facilities.
Our Cricket & Playing Membership
Hadleigh & Thundersley field four open age teams on a Saturday playing in the Hamro Foundation Essex League (formerly 'SNEL', the Shepherd Neame League). Our first XI plays in the Premier Division which is the highest league standard in Essex and also plays in competitive T20 and limited-over format tournaments. The club also enters a team in the Warsop League giving all players an opportunity to have more cricket across the weekend.
We are renowned in the local area for our strong commitment to developing young cricketers. We take part in the ECB’s All Stars programme for five to eight year olds, run a softball team for Under 9s, as well as competitive Under 11, Under 13 and Under 15 teams. We use our Saturday fourth XI to introduce young cricketers to open age cricket with great success. Several of our youth players play at district level and we have had players reach county level at their age group.
Our club welcomes prospective players of all ability and ages to join us for summer and winter training.

Our Social Scene & Social Membership
One of the main attractions of Hadleigh & Thundersley is our social atmosphere. Our Social Committee works with our players to put on a range of enjoyable events across the year for all members to enjoy. These range from live music events, quizzes and bingo nights, Cheese and Wine Evenings, an annual Dinner Dance, a Children’s Christmas Party and much more.

Our Facilities & Bar
We are proud to have outstanding club facilities, and are very grateful to our club sponsors, generous members, and supporting organisations who have helped us invest in these. Part of our contribution back to the local area is our willingness for community groups and sports clubs to hire these.
Our pavilion area has recently been extended enabling us to host large club events, and our bar is well-maintained with very reasonable pricing for the benefit of all members. We have a darts area and several men’s and women’s darts teams which have a calendar of fixtures.
Members are able to introduce guests with them to the club, but our facilities are open to members only and partner organisations. Our club is disability friendly, with a Stannah Platform Lift for those who have mobility problems, and accessible lavatory facilities.
