Founded in 1946, we pride ourselves on our competitive standard of cricket and thriving social scene. We offer men’s cricket, ladies’ cricket and youth cricket for both girls and boys. Our Saturday 1s play in the Hamro Foundation Essex League’s Premier Division – the best in Essex. Our club’s youth teams are also successful in local leagues. We recognise that youth development is very important, from boys and girls aged 5 to 8 joining our All Stars programme or 8 to 11 year girls in our Dynamos Programme, to introducing youth players to open age cricket. Our cricket club will always welcome new players of all ages and ability. We are proud to have been the fastest growing women and girls cricket set-up in Essex in the past year through our women’s softball cricket sessions.
While we are primarily a cricket club, we also have a vibrant social scene, taking advantage of our outstanding pavilion and bar facilities. Social members can enjoy evenings across the year with food and drink, live music, quizzes and watching international sporting events at our bar. We’re a family friendly club and members can introduce guests to use our club facilities.
We are also a community hub which hiring our facilities to community groups in the Castle Point and Southend-on-Sea area.

Our youth compete as Hadleigh & Thundersley Heat in local leagues.
We were delighted to build our women’s cricket team in 2023 and after two fantastic outdoor seasons we have grown to approaching 40 ladies and girls. We were delighted to win our Essex Softball Series division and reach the Finals Day at the CloudFM Essex County Ground at which became the County Runners Up in our second ever season!
We are particularly interested in getting more Year 7 and 8 girls involved to form our Under 13 Girls cricket team and grow our thriving Under 11 Girls team. No equipment is needed!
