Youth Membership

Junior Registration Form

We welcome new youth members – girls and boys – to our growing youth cricket section. We have youth cricket teams covering a wide range of age groups and we actively develop young players so they have the skills to play open age men’s and ladies cricket.

If you have any questions about our youth membership, please contact our Youth Secretary through our club email – hadleigh.thundersleycc@gmail.com.

We run an outdoor All Stars Programme on Friday nights 6-7pm from May suitable for Year 1 to 3  boys and girls. We also run an outdoor Dynamos Programme at the same time suitable for girls Year 4 to 6. Please email us directly if you are interested in your child joining these programmes and we can send you the booking link.

Photographs and Videos – Parental Consent

Please be advised that during the course of representing Hadleigh & Thundersley, your child maybe photographed or videoed. With your consent these photos maybe taken and shared in the public domain on websites/social media, club publications etc.

    Open Age Cricket Consent

Players in Year 8 or above are eligible to play in open age fixtures which is a mix of adult and youth players. For boys, outdoor open age hardball matches take place on mid-week evenings (Evening League T20s) and on Saturday afternoons (40 overs+) between May and early September. For girls, outdoor ladies hardball matches take place on Friday evenings (Essex T20 League) and ladies softball matches take place over the summer on mid-week evenings.

Youth players will be required to wear appropriate protective gear including helmets and will be subject to ECB safeguarding policies around safe fielding distances and length of bowling spells. Any open age team will be supervised by an appropriate DBS cleared adult.

We will consult with your team coach to ensure that your child is considered ‘ready’ to play at this level by us and if so, we will share details of our availability app Spond where you can share your child’s availability to play.

    Player Contact Consent

Parents/Guardians will be contacted regarding availability and team selection or if there are any issues. If you consent, a coach/club official may contact your child regarding availability, team selection or other club business. Please tick box below to indicate your preference.

    Live Streaming - Parental Consent

The club has a system which enables us to live stream and record cricket matches as do many other clubs. This is mainly used for higher level open age Saturday 1s or 2s fixtures where all players have consented, rather than youth fixtures which we do not live stream as standard. However, we would like to check whether you consent to your child to be live streamed in principle while playing cricket for the club:

    Youth Cricket Policies

To help us provide a safe, welcoming and enjoyable environment for young people to play cricket we have a set of policies. We ask that you familiarise yourself with these policies and discuss our "Youth Player Standards of Behaviour" with your child.

If you ever have any questions or concerns about someone's behaviour please email our Club Safeguarding Officers.

    Volunteering

A community cricket club like ours only runs thanks to the support of many unpaid volunteers. We need more volunteer support to maintain and improve our cricket and social offer as a club.

Volunteering can take many different forms – from assisting coaches running training, supporting pitch set-up/clear away on match days, collecting match fees or opening the kitchen to provide tea/coffee on match days. There are also other things involved in running a cricket club such as people arranging socials or club BBQs, fixing things around the club or assisting the groundsman with rolling/mowing cricket pitches.

Please select any ways you are willing to volunteer from the below - thank you.
